Well hey there everyone, hope your Tuesday is treating you well and that you had a fantastic weekend. As you know, I was at a wedding this past weekend for Steve’s cousin Kyle and his beautiful bride Jess.

The day was absolutely gorgeous, the food was amazing, and I got to dance my heart out. I forgot to snap food pics because 1. I thought it was kind of weird and 2. I was busy stuffing my face. However, I did manage to snap a few shots from the day.

Sunday was spent hanging out with Tyson and getting groceries and other typical domestic errands.

Does it drive anyone else nuts when people leave their carts in the parking lot? Like come on, how lazy are you?

I also made Chester a new drinking fountain. I just took a small aquarium pump and put it on the edge of a large steel bucket. He loves free flowing water so this was a perfect solution. Plus it only cost me $15 and took 5 minutes to set up.

As of today I am 60 days out from my competition. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t getting nervous about whether or not I’m going to lean out in time or if I’ll be ready. Steve and others keep assuring me that I’m on the right track and I just have to trust the process. Last year I cut carbs too early and didn’t peak the way I wanted to. This year I want to bring a lean, yet still full, package to the stage. This means not doing anything crazy and just keeping an eye on my progress.

I'm going to bring it!
I’m going to bring it!

60 days = countless strength workouts, HIIT sessions, accessory work (grow booty and calves grow!), carb cycles to go through, macros to calculate, meals to eat and posing to practice. All of this for about 10 minutes on stage to show what I’ve got. As much as I think about the other competitors (sometimes I do think about my fellow competitors when I don’t want to do my last set, I think “well I bet they’re all working waaaay harder than you so you better get your ass in gear”) I really am excited to bring my personal best to the stage, because really that’s all I have control over. I am going to bring the best Chelsey to that stage in 60 days, so watch out!

Just for fun, here’s a quick video of me doing some prowler drags and pushes – such great conditioning!

I’ll have a more in depth update later on this week but I’m actually not feeling great right now 🙁 . I woke up with a bit of a foggy head and sore throat and was hoping I’d be feeling better as the day went on, but instead I’ve been feeling worse. So I made myself some waffles and tea and will be sure to try and get a good night’s sleep (although lately I haven’t been sleeping well).

I’ll check back with you guys with some info on tempo training and how to incorporate it into your current routine. Now go lift something heavy!
