Hey hey hey! I know it has been FOREVER since I posted last. Long story short but my blog had a minor glitch that turned into a bigger one, I lost a bunch of pictures and stuff……but it’s all sorted out now. So I won’t dwell on it like I have been and will just get right back into the swing of things.

Those who know me know that I cannot stand traditional cardio, especially steady state cardio. Treadmills, ellipticals, stairmaster….they all just equal a big yawn fest for me. I know there are a lot of people who love these machines, I’m just not one of them. I get too distracted and antsy, I can’t do one thing for too long.

That being said I still like to get in some sweaty HIIT conditioning to get my heart rate up and keep my metabolism revved up and ready to go. We have a lot of different conditioning tools here at my facility, the battle ropes being one of my most/least favourite.

Since I LOVE me some killer tabata, I thought it would be fun to try out some battle rope tabata. I wasn’t sure if it’d be too easy, but it turned out to be a huge sweat fest of awesomeness.

For those that don’t know, tabata is simply a timing protocol where you bust your ass for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds and repeat for a total of 8 rounds or 4 minutes.

Check out this video of me busting out the battle ropes, tabata style. If you are lucky enough to have these at your facility, give this a try!

Drop me a line on twitter @PowerhouseChels if you give this a try! And I promise not to leave for so long again!

See you guys tomorrow with an awesome veggie soup recipe and a super special announcement!!!
