Hey there! Did you miss me? I’m going to pretend you said yes. Let’s get caught up shall we?
Well, like I mentioned in my last post, my sister Alyx was down for a visit from Toronto. She got in later on Friday night so we just laid low, drank tea, and watched trashy TV. Perfect. I put my bootcampers through a pretty tough workout on Saturday morning (we didn’t even get to finish!) and then I proceeded to torture myself via Steve’s workout for me which included deadlifts (I nailed 240lbs x 5 – can’t wait to re-test my max again soon) and 100, yes 100 slam burpees.
Once I peeled myself off the floor and cleaned up so I looked somewhat presentable Alyx and I headed on over to Western University to watch one of my clients, Monica, wrestle. Monica is wicked strong and I wish more girls had her attitude towards training. I absolutely love training her, I push her to be better and she does the same for me. Last week she benched 155 for 4 like it was nothing. She is crazy strong and I love it.
I decided to be a creep with my camera while we were waiting for her to wrestle in finals and snapped some pictures. I have no shame.
I love watching Monica wrestle because I can see all her hard work in the gym translate to the mat. I feel a sense of pride watching her, and I also get kinda nervous too.
She was so amazing! She wound up coming in second place, only losing her last match.
One super proud (slightly dishevelled) trainer
Saturday night my mom, sister and I all headed out for Chinese food and then a movie at my place. It was so much fun to hang out, just us three girls. We had full belly’s and lots of laughs. Sunday we also had full belly’s thanks to the super bowl! We had a couple friends over and ate plenty of good food, all of which I forgot to take pictures of because I was just too busy enjoying their company.
I did manage to take my little Tyson out for a walk to work off some of the food we ate. He’s just so darn cute.
With the weekend excitement over I got ready to start the week only to discover that I had somehow come down with a head cold. Sniffles, coughing, runny nose, the works. Yuck. I took Monday and Tuesday nice and easy and have been trying to get plenty of sleep. Thankfully I’m feeling much better today (although I don’t sound like it) and am hoping to make a full recovery by the weekend. I even managed to get in a killer workout.
So that’s what I’ve been up to these past few days. I have a couple more informative posts coming up and some new workouts (it’s hard to film workouts with a runny nose). I hope you’re all having a stellar week – be sure to wash your hands, you don’t want to catch this bug!
