I haven’t always had a butt I was proud of. In fact, growing up my sister and mum used to tease me about having no butt (my sister was blessed with a beautiful booty and boobs :P) and I remember jeans and pants not quite fitting how I wanted them to due to my lack of booty.
Fast forward a lot of squats, lunges, bridges, and hip thrusts later and I now have a booty I’m very proud of. Now, most people say to build a butt you need to squat, and while I won’t argue that I think exercises like weighted lunges, hip thrusts and glute bridges are just as, if not more important than squats. Blasphemy, I know.
Bottom line is if you want a nice round, perky bum, you should be doing a variety of glute exercises, not solely relying on squats. There are a lot of weighted and machine options out there but today I wanted to share a few of my favorite glute exercises that require zero equipment and can be done just about anywhere.
