In case you missed it, I shared some pretty big news last week on Instagram:

Steve and I (and Tyson) are so thrilled to have a new workout buddy arriving early February 2017!

I’m really looking forward to documenting this exciting time and keep all of you updated on how things are going. I figured this would be the perfect time to fill you in on some of the details.

First off, the main questions I’ve been asked:

WHEN DID YOU FIND OUT? We found out on May 31st, right when I was 4 weeks.

That faint little line changed everything

WERE YOU TRYING OR WAS IT A LOVELY SURPRISE? We were trying. We were extremely blessed and fortunate to conceive the first time we tried. After spending so many years trying to prevent pregnancy it’s definitely a weird thing to switch over to trying to conceive.

HOW DID YOU FIND OUT? I took an at home test. Since the line was so faint I almost dismissed it. After I told Steve and we high-fived (yes that actually happened) I phoned the doc to book a blood test and make double sure. There was no denying it after that.

DID/HAVE YOU HAD ANY SYMPTOMS? Honestly I can’t really complain. I was extremely tired from weeks 5-10. I took a lot of naps. I also had some minor nausea and food aversions but nothing crazy.

At around 7 weeks it seemed my boobs grew overnight, they were also extremely sore. I’m already up almost a full cup size already! I need to go get some new sports bras because only a few are still comfortable at this point.

The past couple weeks I’ve been starting to get what I think are round ligament pains but nothing crazy.

WHEN DID YOU TELL YOUR FAMILY? I actually told my sister first over the phone since I wouldn’t be seeing her for a few weeks but wanted her to know. Then we told my mom when she came over to dog-sit for us while we went to a wedding. She is thrilled to say the least. We told Steve’s parents the same day in between the ceremony and wedding reception – they are so excited for us!

We told Steve’s siblings on Father’s Day. Steve’s mom baked a cake that said Happy Fathers Day to all the dads and included Steve’s name. It was such a fun way to tell everyone and we’re so excited to have such amazing support on both sides of the family.

We started telling Aunts, Uncles and cousins at various family events.

BABY POWERHOUSE DETAILS:

Due Date? February 5th, 2017

Baby’s Gender? No idea, too early to tell

Will You Find Out? Heck yes! Steve and I are very much on the same page with this one. We find out mid September and yes we will tell people.

Any Names? We have a few picked out

Ultrasounds? Yup! Went for my first one on July 27th

Weight Gained? Somewhere between 3-5 pounds I’m guessing. I was up 2.5 pounds at 13 weeks.

Working Out? Honestly up until 10 weeks getting in more than 3 workouts a week was a chore. I was just so tired. Things are feeling so much better lately and I’m back to 4-6 workouts a week.

Yes, my workouts are being modified. I’m not going to be one of those crazy people trying to do kipping pull ups at 30 weeks (not that you’d catch me doing a kipping pull up to begin with). I think there’s a time and a place for everything. Right now I’m not trying to set PR’s – I’m growing a human. The risk of slipping and falling is something I don’t take lightly so I’ve swapped box jumps for step ups and flat bench for incline to make sure my already low blood pressure doesn’t drop too much.

I’ll continue to make modifications as needed and will definitely keep you all posted.

Bumpies? Oh yes. To catch up a bit, here are pictures from weeks 4-15 (I somehow missed week 13):

I am definitely feeling more pregnant these days. The past few weeks I’ve really noticed my little bump starting to take shape.

Cravings? None yet. I’ve had some random aversions but so far so good in the food department. I have noticed I can’t eat as much after dinner so I added in an extra snack or two during the day.

Looking forward to? Feeling baby kick and learning if it’s a boy or girl!

Baby Purchases? I bought a vintage dresser that I refinished to use as baby’s change table. I’m planning on painting the nursery sometime in the next few weeks.

Alright – that’s it for now. I’ll be doing weekly updates from here out so you can follow along and see how things are progressing week to week. I’m so excited to keep this little guy/gal growing and happy in there. They sure are going to have a ton of people anticipating their arrival!
