Hey friends! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was suuuuuper busy. It all started Thursday night when I had some clients over to talk about nutrition. Fitness and nutrition go hand and hand so I find it helpful if my clients have a basic understanding of nutrition. I don’t lie to them or pretend that I don’t enjoy food I know isn’t healthy (as you’ll see below) but if people know the basics, like how to properly read a nutrition label, what the different macros do for your body, the effect alcohol has on weight loss, etc then I hope they feel more empowered to make better decisions.

Friday night was another busy night – The London Wine and Food Show.  I had never been before and I had an absolute blast! It was so fun so sample different craft beefs and the food…oh the food.

I’m not much of a liquor drinker so I stuck to mainly beer. I tried a vanilla stout, green apple, different ciders, and other ales and pilsners. I did try one Hypnotiq drink, mainly because it came with candy 😉 I also got to sample fritters, tacos, homemade sweets, deep fried pickles along with other goodies. I put together a little gallery of my eats for you to drool over.

All in all it was a great night! It was really busy but they did a great job of keeping everything organized, definitely makes me want to go to more Western Fair events. It’s nice because you don’t leave feeling stuffed and gross because you just get to try a little bit of everything, which I totally dig.

Saturday night the food fun continued and we had Steve’s parents and my mom over for dinner. I got to unveil the dining room table I re-finished which they thought came out great too.

I’ll post finished pics soon!

For dinner I made – Southwest salad, homemade biscuits, jalapeno popper stuffed chicken, green beans, roasted potatoes and a crisp for dessert. Since I just wanted to enjoy the company I was a bad blogger and didn’t take any pictures. Sometimes it’s nice to just live in the moment.

Sunday the festivities continued on and Steve and I made our way to Toronto for the Raptors vs. Lakers game. The Raptors lost, but it was a great game.

We stopped in at the Loose Moose for lunch before the game, it never disappoints.

The Woody burger with caramelized onions, bacon, cheddar & BBQ sauce on bacon focaccia bread

All in all it was an awesome weekend filled with some stellar food. I’m off to lift heavy things, later!

haha, I have my wine and food show review up today too – I was there on Saturday! I remember thinking that I should have tried the deep fried pickles, but I forgot about them…damn. It was a great show though, wasn’t it?

So good! We had a blast. I loved getting to try so much food all at once. Plus the amount of craft beer was awesome.
