Hey there! I am soooo excited to share what I got this month from the Foodie Penpal program created by Lindsay over at the Lean Green Bean.

Anyways back to the reveal! I was so lucky to be paired up with Katy who blogs over at Fit in Heels and she seriously rocks. I love reading her blog, I find myself chuckling as she is just so relatable and funny. I think if we ever met in person we’d click right away.What makes Katy even more awesome? She sent me a package filled with yummy goodies!

This bar was soooooo good. Steve and I shared it after a workout and it was rich and chewy and yummy!



This Chex mix. Well I can say is they better start carrying this stuff where I live. This was amazing! Steve and I shared it for movie night and if there had been more, it would have polished it all off. Just awesome.





This bar is from one of Katy’s favourite shops and I can see why. This bar was dark chocolate perfection! I broke it into pieces and enjoyed little nibbles so I didn’t overdo it all at once.




I have a confession. I have never had a Lara bar. Everyone on the blogs I read rant and rave over these things and I see them in the store, see the price tag, and walk away. So I’m really happy that I finally got to try one! This bar was really yummy! I have no  idea how people eat a whole one all at once though as I was full half way through! I saved the rest for after another workout.




Lastly were these Godiva pearls. They were little balls of happiness. Steve somehow managed to get his hands on these and I have to say, he thoroughly enjoyed them. I did manage to have some for myself as well.





These cookies are the only things I have yet to try. I think we’ll snack on them after our hike this weekend and I’m sure they’ll be delish!


In case you can’t tell, Katy looooooves chocolate and I’m so happy I got to try some of her favourite things! Thanks so much Katy, you seriously rock.

    WHAT A GREAT IDEA! Although I’d love to get food in the mail, I really like getting hand-written letters. I have a pen-pal…from grade four (so we’re talking…18 years now) and she STILL writes! I’m really terrible at writing her back and usually end up replying to her on FB, but I love that after all these years…and NEVER meeting…we still have that connection.

    Chocolate is such a great “theme”! I like that she carried it out through all of her items. I’m new to the foodie penpals, but I really love the idea of getting and receiving food in the mail — who doesn’t want THAT kind of surprise? I’m also a health site, but I tend to lean more on nutrition, although I’ve just recently jumped into to heavier daily exercise and I’m already feeling better. I’m at a good weight, but need to tone up — any suggestion on reps vs. weight?

      I love that she had a a theme to her box, I may have to do something like that with my pen pal next month!

      As far as reps and weights I like to mix it up. I switch it up between moderate weight and 12-15 reps for 3-5 sets and heavier weights for 5-10 reps and 2-4 sets. It really depends on your goals. You need to make sure you’re progressing so either up the weight or the reps if you hit a plateau.

    oh goshhh I love this box of goodies! I’m a BIG fan of dark chocolate and I love how it feels after I eat it…it’s satisfying, velvety, and bold. That’s also how i like my coffee, hehe. It’s so cool seeing all these adults have so much fun by having penpals–who says it’s just for kids, right? Hehe. 😀

      I know I looooved all the chocolate! So indulgent! I had a pen pal when I was younger and I love having different ones that send you awesome goodies even more.
