Happy almost Friday! It definitely feels like Friday already as it seems most of my clients are leaving today or tomorrow to make it an extra long weekend. It’s kinda random that our holiday is on a Tuesday and I know many people are taking tomorrow and Monday off to make the most of it.



It’s been a pretty good week in terms of training and eating. But really, I rarely have a bad week of eating haha.



Sunday Steve, Tyson and I headed out for another round of tempo sprints. I love that it’s something we can do all together. Tyson always has a blast running around.




Lot’s of water and shade for this guy…the malamute in him struggles with the heat sometimes.



The sprints were fuelled by the delicious meal we had Saturday night at The Keg.



Steak, shrimp, loaded baked potato.



After dinner we went to the movies.




Steve and I both really enjoyed it. The movie poked fun at itself and I laughed out loud a quite few times.



I have been craving fruit like crazy lately. Watermelon, cherries, strawberries…I love it all.




Post sprints we came home and enjoyed some fabulous fruit and fried egg sandwiches.



This week is a mini deload week for me so I’m not doing anything heavy. Tuesday I did some paused safety squat bar (SSB) squats. It’s only 95lbs (the bar weighs 65) but it was tough. I did 5 sets of 8.





Just because it’s a deload doesn’t mean I cut down on my food. Not at all.



Baked chicken fajitas and veggies


BBQ chicken drumsticks, baby potatoes, homemade bacon cheddar mac and cheese


Berry protein ice cream (recipe) topped with a bit of Sally’s cinnamon cereal and vanilla cupcake goldfish



We do not have fun goldfish flavours like you lucky duckies in the States, I’m going to pick up some fun stuff this weekend.



Chorizo stuffed chicken, wedge potatoes and roasted veggies.



Ok so I know that picture doesn’t look appetizing but oh.my.goodness. It was so delicious. I was wanting to make stuffed chicken but wanted to do something different so I stuffed it with chorizo and cheese/cream cheese and baked it with salsa. So damn good.



While most people are headed to the beach or cottage this weekend, Steve and I are making the 6 hour drive down to Cincinnati for a football strength and conditioning seminar.




A big emphasis of this clinic is neck training and concussion prevention and seeing that the majority of our clients play football it should be interesting. I’m excited to meet other trainers and hopefully learn some new things. Steve has already heard a couple of the speakers as they also do the Michigan State Strength and Conditioning Clinic. It’ll be interesting to see how many other female trainers are there.



Alright guys, I’m off to teach boot camp and then get things together for our road trip – aka. beef jerky, nuts and energy drinks.

    JFC your food always looks so good. How did you make your bacon mac and cheese? I feel like I’ve already asked you this haha – I’m desperate to know!!

    There’s vanilla cupcake goldish? Wow, it’s probably best if I never find where they sell those.
