We made it friends! Long weekend gloriousness awaits and I am very excited at the idea of some solid lounging occurring over the next couple days.

So today I thought I would share some of my favourite things that I’ve been enjoying lately as I haven’t done a favourites post in a while. If there’s anything you’re loving at the moment, leave me a comment – I always like hearing about other people’s favourites.

First thing I’m loving is Steve’s first podcast interview! I mentioned it a couple weeks ago and it’s out there for everyone to listen to now. It covers some myths and facts about sprint training for athletes.

Here’s the full podcast:

And here’s just Steve’s part of the interview:

I’ve said it countless times before, but Steve is absolutely incredible at his job. He makes his athletes, stronger, faster and more explosive using sound training protocols without all the gimmicks that seem to have flooded the fitness world. Programming for athletes is so different as there are so many variables to consider and far too many people just throw things together that make it seem like you’re accomplishing something when in reality you’re just running yourself into the ground.

Steve took the time to write up an accompanying article on sprint training guidelines that you can read HERE. If you don’t know a lot about sprint training it is a fantastic starting point. If you have any athlete specific training questions, feel free to shoot Steve an email: steve@powerhousetraining.ca

When it comes to my own training, I have been loving the prowler lately. I know most people have a love/hate relationship with this thing but I have really been pushing it on the prowler lately and I love the challenge it provides.

This brow sculptor:

I don’t use it everyday but it definitely does a great job of making your eyebrows pop with minimal effort and without being over dramatic.

This isn’t me but our brows are similar 😉

I’ve also been loving this NYC BB cream:

I don’t like to use foundation and find that this gives the perfect the amount of coverage without being cake-y.

As you can probably tell I don’t spend very much on beauty products, I’m a simple girl.

This article from BuzzFeed had me reminiscing:

I stumbled across this channel while researching for a freelance article I’m writing and instantly fell in love with her warm personality and easy recipes. I have my eye on her no-knead, no machine cinnamon roll recipe. I’ve been craving homemade cinnamon buns for months now and I think it’s time to make some. I tried to make homemade once before and used The Pioneer Woman’s recipe but they never rose and it was a sad, sad day in my kitchen.

I’ve also been loving the HBO show Girls lately. I normally watch an episode when I get home and am getting dinner ready.

And lastly, here are a few songs I’ve been playing on repeat lately because that’s what I do with songs. Play them over and over until I can’t stand them anymore.

I’m off! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
