Hey friends, it’s finally the weekend! It is another chilly one here in London (-29 with the windchill) but I’m still looking forward to a relaxing weekend with my guys.

Tyson is a giant lap dog

The pain in my elbow seems to be subsiding but today Steve still had me use the safety squat bar because yesterday it seemed to hurt, just a bit, when I was using the straight bar. The bar always leaves me with a nice red mark on my left shoulder and I find it a bit more challenging but I was still able to keep up the with my usual weights.

The safety squat bar weighs 65lbs opposed to 45lbs and I find it really forces you to stay tight during the whole lift.

Anywho let’s jump into some of my current favourite things:

The table I re-finished

Here it is in our basement on Christmas day

And here it is now in our dining area

This was the table that Steve grew up with. His parents have had it forever, I think it’s around 35 years old. I love that I was able to re-finish it and that we can now enjoy our family meals at it.

Movie Date!

Tonight Steve and I are actually going out for a movie night…..on a week night! I know most people consider Friday night the beginning of the weekend but we both work Saturday mornings so going out any night other than Saturday is a treat for us 😛 Owning a business takes a lot of dedication but I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.

I think we’re going to see this 🙂

Speaking of our gym, Steve put together the 2013 montage and I love it.

Powerhouse 2013 Montage

I love watching the year end videos, they always make me want to train. It’s also really cool to see how far our gym has come in the 3 years since we opened.

Cream of Wheat

I love this stuff. I hadn’t had it in a while lately I’ve been enjoying it with oats and egg whites cooked on the stovetop with a little bit of butter. Mmmmmmm…. so good.

Bulletproof Coffee

To be totally honest I’ve only been having this for a few days but I really love how creamy it is. Basically it’s coffee, grassfed ghee – clarified butter that’s rich in CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) – and coconut oil. I know most people use MCT oil but I don’t have that and coconut oil is still an MCT oil, just not as concentrated. I take my coffee, oil and butter, add a little sweetener and blend it up in one of my single serving cups that came with my Ninja. Comes out frothy and delicious!

My Ninja

I know I’ve mentioned it before but I use this thing every.single.day! My sister and mom bought it for me after my competition and I absolutely love this thing. It blends, purees, mixes, chops. I use it to make dough, make whole food juice, chop veggies, make salad dressings, etc etc. I highly highly recommend it.

Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP 2

I love just about every song on his new CD. Right now I’m really digging this one.

Well I’m off, keep warm party peeps!
