***Note, I thought I set this to publish on Tuesday evening, it’s now Wednesday evening, guess I picked the wrong date :S ***

Well hello again! Anyone suffering from a St. Patty’s hangover today? I actually almost forgot about the holiday yesterday…ooopsie.

My boot camp class that I mentioned yesterday, ya it wound up being a huuuge class. It was actually pretty crowded between Steve’s clients and all of mine – we are definitely going to need a bigger facility in the near future. If you want to buy me a bigger building as a birthday present that’d be swell.

It was also an awesome day because one of my small group clients, Mackenzie, hit a new PR for deadlifts – 225lbs!

I get so excited/proud when my clients hit new PR’s. I love that my female clients get so excited about getting stronger. Mackenzie is a petite little thing and she can move the weights around like no one’s business.

Today has been a rather productive one. I had clients in this morning for small group training and then had to take Steve’s car in for an oil change which wound up taking a while because they fixed a couple small chips in the windshield at the same time. For once they didn’t try and sell me a bunch of crap and told me the car was in great shape. I don’t know about other girls but I always hate doing anything mechanical on my car because I feel like the technicians sometimes pressure me into doing things for my car that I don’t really need done. I was impressed because at this Mr. Lube there were 3 female techs working while I was there.

Steve’s car had to go in because he’s going to Toronto on Thursday for the regional CFL combine. One of our athletes, Zack Medeiros, was invited to attend.

I’ve got some more work to do before more clients come in, but as promised here are those yummy chocolate oat protein cookies that were inspired by a recipe that the Healthy Diva posted. They take 15 from prep to done and make a delicious post workout snack, or breakfast. I’m not one to judge 🙂

Chocolate Protein Oat Cookies

Cook time
Total time
Serves: (serves 3)
  • ½ cup oats
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1-2 TBSP cocoa powder (depending on how chocolatey your protein is)
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 2 TBSP apple sauce
  • 2 TBSP nut butter (I like almond butter, but peanut is delish too)
  • 2 TSBP egg whites
  • Sweetener of choice, I used a few packets of stevia
  • You can add a 1-2 TBSP of shredded coconut, you may need to add an extra tbsp of apple sauce if you do this
  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Mix all dry ingredients together
  3. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix
  4. Batter should be thick - depending on your protein powder you may need to add a TBSP of almond milk
  5. Form into 3 large cookies
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes
  7. They should still be slightly soft when you take them out of the oven
  8. Allow to cool and set

Is there something you can use instead of apple sauce? Greek yogurt, maybe? Thanks, look amazing! X

I’ve had a couple people use greek yogurt and said it works, a couple have also used a 1/2 mashed banana. 🙂

Oww, that really looks tasty! I need to try it asap. Looks like great post work-out meal, doesn’t it? I’m not much of a chef, but I’m learning how to cook as I know for sure that I won’t ever stop working out and it means that I won’t ever abandon healthy lifestyle either! I’ve made some tasty food from your recipes, so wish me luck this time too!
