Week 18! Let’s get into it.
HERE’S WHAT’S UP WITH BABY POWERHOUSE THIS WEEK:
- Baby is about 5.5 inches long, just shy of 7 ounces and the size of a sweet potato or artichoke
- He/she can yawn and hiccup
- Baby’s nervous system is quickly maturing
- He/she is punching, kicking and rolling around
- Baby’s five senses are further developing
AND HERE’S WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING WITH ME THIS PAST WEEK:
My belly decided to make an appearance this week! Although it still really depends on the day/time of day for when it likes to poke out.
Weight gained: No clue. I’m guessing 5-6lbs.
Workouts: Still feeling awesome! Things are definitely harder but moving feels great. I’m so thankful to be able to stay active during this pregnancy/
Symptoms: Minor round ligament pain (I think because the belly is finally growing more), headaches, congestion and dry eyes. I had no idea dry eyes were a pregnancy symptom but apparently they are.
Food Aversions: Nothing….feed me!
Food Cravings: Fruit. Apples, strawberries, pears and grapes are my nightly snacks.
Sleep: Good. My mom was so sweet and bought me a Snoogle!
I had no idea how versatile this pillow would be. You can use it to sleep, breastfeed, watch TV, sit in bed and so much more. A mom friend I know said her only regret was not getting one for her first pregnancy so I’m really happy to have this early on so I can fully enjoy it. They’re not cheap but if you’re not naturally a side sleeper or have back or hip pain, I would totally recommend it!
Maternity clothes?: No, but I think I may need new jeans soonish. My low rise jeans still fit ok but I don’t know how much longer that will last.
Stretch marks? Nope!
Fun/Weird Stuff From the Week: We went to the cottage last weekend which was a blast. It was nice to get away and spend some time with family. Plus, my niece is about 5 weeks and I got lots of baby snuggles which is always welcome.
Baby Items Purchased: Nothing aside from the Snoogle. We looked at change table pads but decided to hold off for a bit.
Looking Forward To: Finding out the gender at my anatomy scan!
Also, some people asked what digestion supplement I was taking. It’s called PrettyFit and it’s seriously the best tasting greens product I’ve ever had.
All in all I feel truly blessed to feel so good and to be able to continue on with most of my regular activities like normal. I know some mama’s who are nauseous and have aches, pains and things that can make pregnancy not-so-fun so I’m grateful to be feeling awesome so far.
