Well hey there! How is everyone? I have been swamped lately, hence by absence here (well more than usual, I’ve always been a little sporadic hehe). In the past few weeks I’ve taken on a bunch of new clients and while it’s awesome, it’s also keeping me very busy. At this point I have more clients for my small group training than I do for bootcamp, which I think is so cool! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my boot camp ladies, but there is sometime to be said for the shift  of women wanting to learn to lift heavy and that really understand and appreciate what lifting weights can do for your body. I love having a group of girls in who are all deadlifting and loving how strong they all feel, it makes my heart happy.

Within the next little bit I will (hopefully) be back in my groove. Please be patient with me. Between prepping for my show, football games every weekend, and a bunch of awesome new clients I am just a little overwhelmed. I have the tempo post all typed up, but I can’t open it on this Mac Book. I’ll do my best to get it up tomorrow along with a recipe for low carb burger buns.

Anyways, a little bit of catch up, this past Sunday Steve and I drove one of our athletes, Zack Medeiros, to a kicking camp in Troy Michigan. We left bright and early and didn’t get home until about 8:30pm or so. It was definitely a long day but it was really cool to see him in action.

(That’s video from a different day)

He won the punting competition and has been invited to an elite camp in Orlando in January. He is crazy talented and is one of the most dedicated athletes we’ve worked with. He balances school, 5 workouts a week, kicking practice and work. I was totally impressed with him and had such a sense of pride watching him all day.

I made sure to pack food for the morning (low carb turkey wrap and a protein bar + some nuts and other things) and while Zack was on lunch we took advantage and did some shopping. I scored two new pairs of shoes, win!

After camp was over we went out to Chilis where I enjoyed a delicious flatbread pizza app that Steve and I split and a burger and fries for my re-feed day (no picture, cell died). It was divine!

Here is a little video update on how my prep is going, it took tries to upload this video, grrrrr.

OK, I’m off to make some dinner for my very hungry belly, later!

I listened to your video while I lay down resting post-surgery! I love the way you are going about prep. You’re so sensible and healthy, and I hope it shows other girls you don’t have to be crazy restrictive. I think you look amazing! My tummy is the last place to lose fat so I would happily trade bodies, although the grass is always greener, right!? Keep up the great work!

Thanks Tara. I just feel so good mentally right now which I think has made a big difference it terms of how my prep is going. It’s definitely nice not feeling so restricted and still being able to enjoy social outings and the occasional burger and fries.

Interestingly, Dana Linn Bailey totally changed her food prep in the run up to her competitions lately, and has kicked ass – George didn’t take carbs out of her diet at all, and she said she’s been much happier mentally, and obviously has been more successful physically!

Cool video – you look great! 🙂

Thanks! I really do think that it’s the mental aspect of competing that throws most people off. I think those closest to me notice a difference this time around too. DLB is looking pretty amazing these days, it takes a ton of dedication to get where she is.
