Today has been one of those days things just seem a little bit off. My boot camp classes have been all over the place with last minute cancellations, causing me to have juggle things around to make things work for the night. When you own a private facility this is one of the things that you deal with on a daily basis. People cancel last minute, don’t show up, show up late. I don’t think people realize how much it affects the rest of your day when things like this happen. Oh well, life goes on.
Anyways, enough of my little rant. I mentioned last week that our Beefeaters were playing in the Ontario Championships and I am so excited to report that they won! They fly out West on October 27th to play either Regina or Saskatoon. They have worked so hard all season and they earned that win.
It was rainy and crappy out but I am so happy I was there to share in that moment with our guys.

In other news, my meal plan has changed up again. I will be sticking with this plan from now until 2 weeks out when things will get really dialled in. Of course I may need to make adjustments before then but hopefully things keep progressing as they have been.
I have noticed that over the past couple of days my energy has been a bit down. I expected this as my body adjusts to this switch up and am already feeling better today than I did on Monday or Tuesday. I am currently eating a lot of fat, good lean protein, and minimal carbs. I LOVE that I get to have whole eggs again, nothing makes me happier in the morning than a runny yolk. Mmmmmm.
One thing I am missing right now is my morning oats. I am an oat fiend and never get sick of oatmeal so to go without it is really hard. However I did come up with something that helps satisfy my oat craving while getting in plenty of fibre and healthy omega-3 fats.
- 1 tablespoon Ground Flax
- 1 tablespoon Chia Seeds
- 1 tablespoon Hemp Hearts
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (Optional)
- Sweetener to taste - I like toffee flavoured liquid stevia
- Add everything together in a bowl
- Add ¼ - ⅓ cup boiling water (you can adjust to get the consistency you're looking for)
- Stir and let sit for 1-2 minutes while mixture absorbs water
- Eat! Enjoy it with a splash of almond milk or a dash of sugar free maple syrup!
It may seem like nothing but this small satisfying bowl packs in:
9g carbs (8.5 of which come from fibre)
11g of heart healthy fat
I love to pour just a little bit of unsweetened almond milk on top of it, chocolate almond milk is divine.
Also….I got my suit in today!!! I was SOOOOOOO excited when the UPS man came to the gym. Then I opened the package only to see just how small this suit really is…eeek! I will have to practice posing in my suit so I feel totally comfortable and confident up on that stage. Nothing will make you stick to a plan like knowing you have to prance around half-naked on stage in T-Minus 38 days!
I am going to start doing some compilation videos of my training so you can see the type of stuff I’m doing on a daily basis as I’ve had lots of questions.
