Hope everyone had a fantastic week! I’m so excited for the long weekend. My cousin is coming down for a visit tonight and then Steve and I are just going to relax and enjoy each other’s company for the rest of the weekend (and hopefully go see the Dark Knight Rises!)
I have some high fives to hand out before I move on so let’s get the party started!

Karli, Vivette & Sally – All of these ladies get high fives this week for really pushing it in small group training! I love watching people progress and all 3 have gotten stronger over the past few weeks.
Christine – She gets a high five for picking up on the new moves in boot camp so quickly and never giving up
Team Oreo (Mya, Lindsay, Erin) – These ladies won my max rounds challenge last night at the gym! Go team!
I have a high five for myself but I’m saving it for a special announcement I have coming up in the next week!
On to the oats!
Last week I mentioned that I tried overnight oats for the first time. While I enjoyed them I haven’t made them since, I just love my hot oats so much! Today I thought I’d share some of the oat combinations I’ve been enjoying lately.
* My serving of oats is 1/2 – 2/3 cup dry which I simply cook in the microwave with water for a minute and a half but you can use whatever serving of oats you’d like and adjust as needed – I’m just throwing out some combo suggestions*
Apple Cinnamon Oats
- Cooked oats
- 1/4 cup apple unsweetened apple sauce
- 1/2 diced apple (my apples are huge)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Dash of nutmeg
- Sweetener to taste
Maple Pecan Crunch
- Cooked oats
- 1 tbsp sugar free maple syrup
- 2 tbsp toasted pecans
- Optional: dates & granola
Chocolate Macaroon
- Cooked oats
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1 tsp cocoa powder (if your protein powder isn’t chocolatey enough – which mine isn’t)
- 2 tbsp shredded unsweetened coconut
- Sweetener to taste
- You may need to add some almond milk/water to thin it out
Coconut Banana Cream Pie
- Cooked oats
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 2-3 tbsp shredded unsweetened coconut
- 1/2 sliced banana (you can obviously use the whole thing if you want)
- Almond/coconut milk to thin it out
All of the deliciousness – none of the guilt
I hope I gave you some ideas for some new oat creations! Oatmeal is such a quick easy breakfast and it is so versatile!
What are some of your favourite oatmeal combos?

YOU GAVE ME SO MANY IDEAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhh I love you! I have banana cream pie oats on my food page on my blog! I will need to try yours though <3
HAHA I laughed when you said that you love your hot oats and haven't had overnight oats since. I AM THE SAME WAY! Yeahhhhh overnight oats are good and all, but I rather have them during the day as a snack or something?? The morning I just want my warm oats
Mmmmm I really think I will try that apple one tomorrow??
P.S. Thanks for the HFF support Chelsey!!!!!!!!! <3
Of course! I LOVE it!
I don’t normally eat oatmeal, but that chocolate macaroon one sounds delicious!
I love it! It’s really good just using cocoa powder and some milk if you don’t have the chocolate protein powder too.
Thank you for pushing us and making my butt bigger! I also feel great after the prowler tonight thanks for your encouragement!xo
You’re a rock star!
